Beautiful weekend!!!

This has been a beautiful weekend! The weather has been absolutely gorgeous, Couper got many walks, Jax had a very exciting basketball game (I was the Team Snack Mom!! Which I secretly love and look forward too!) and of course we did some thrifting. Found a Razor scooter for only $4.99.....what a productive and fun weekend!

Another project!

Yep that's right....2 projects in one weekend! I'm pretty excited about that :) Here is a pic of the 2nd finished project.... the top is an old picture frame I had lying around under my bed .. I knew I would use it someday! I had the calendar hanging on my fridge and the row of sticky notes too. I painted the frame, put white poster board under the glass and put the calendar and sticky notes on with double sided tape...bonus--i can remove the calendar and use it as a dry erase board!
The key picture thingy underneath it was chipped and a dark wood color...I painted that too with the same black and printed out some really cute black and white pics for in it...so it acts like a shelf to put my pen etc on for the calendar and a place to hang my keys....I put it on the wall in the kitchen next to the garage door. It looks fantabulous!!! And will look even better after i paint the kitchen walls and get my new countertops!! Can't wait :)

pillows for $0.99....really???

I found this brand spankin new set of 6 camoflauge handkerchiefs at the thrift store for 99 cents...so of course I buy them...but why? I knew someday I'd think of someway to use them...well, yesterday it hit me! Pillows for Jackson's bed!!

Hmmm...okay..so I sew them together..then I need something to stuff them with.....no problem, I just happen to have these old pillows in the guest room...I'll just rip them apart!

this was the really fun part!

After that, I stuffed them and sewed them shut...and tada... 3 pillows for $0.99!!!!!

Finally...

It's over!! Yesterday morning was the promotion test. I woke up, made breakfast for me and Jackson, filled my coffee cup and headed out the door. I found the right building, and the right room and had about 45 minutes to spare. Everything was going so well! I sat and waited anxiously. There were folks still cramming for the last few minutes that they could. I was confident to say the least. Didn't even bring my study materials with me! I had closed the book the night before and vowed not to open it again. Let's face it....I'd been studying since September, if I didn't know it by now, then I just wasn't going to know it.
After all the instructions the test proctor said the words I had been waiting to hear for weeks....'you may begin'. I opened the page and was shocked to see that I knew the first 3 answers!!! Whoo Hoo!! But my excitement was short lived....the next 97 questions just proceeded to tick me off! Now I just wait....and wait, to find out if it all paid off.

Study Study Study....

I've been studying for my promotion test since September. I even took an entire week of leave this past week and studied for 8 hours a day. My test is monday. At this point I'm just ready to get it over with. There's so much information it seems impossible to know it all. So for now I'll just say...if they ask me the questions I do know, then all should go well :)

I'm home!!!

So for the last week I've been TDY to sunny Arizona. While I was there the temps were in the 60s and 70s....absolutely fabulous!!! My son was back here in good old Dayton with his dad for the week. Luckily Jeff was able to fly out from Colorado to stay with Jackson which made it alot easier for me to go away. They were hit with a blizzard! It snowed so much that Jacksons school was closed for 4 days! So him and Jeff (his dad) were able to spend alot of time together. And our dog Couper never had to be alone. What a great week for all of them.

The good news is, I finished my training, passed my test, and was able to fly back into Dayton without any delays!! The bad news is...in the last 3 days I've only gotten about 5 hours of sleep between studying and traveling. I'm exhausted!!
